What is the point of this post on a local newspaper messageboard? This is not church. If you want to debate theological passages then I suggest you join a Sunday group or search out a more appropriate forum.
I will leave you with a thought of my own however - Hemingway.
"What did he fear? It was not a fear or dread. It was a nothing that he knew too well. It was all a nothing and a man was a nothing too. It was only that and light was all it needed and a certain cleanness and order. Some lived in it and never felt it but he knew it all was nada y pues nada y nada y pues nada. Our nada who art in nada, nada be thy name thy kingdom nada thy will be nada in nada as it is in nada. Give us this nada our daily nada and nada us our nada as we nada our nadas and nada us not into nada but deliver us from nada; pues nada. Hail nothing full of nothing, nothing is with thee."
bobdylan - This isnt an issue of freedom of speech. Stan was allowed to post his opinion just as I was allowed to post an opposing opinion. My point is that there is a place and context in which something like theological philosophy should take place and a local newspaper forum is neither.
// side rant I do however find it amusing that I am debating freedom of speech on a newspapers messageboard when said messageboard is moderated by some indignant who has to pre-approve messages before they post. Freedom of speech, really? I dont think so.
Who's running this thing anyways - the Bush adminstration?
We are all FREE up to the Point of CHOICE, Then the Choice CONTROLS the CHOOSER!
To all that want to understand one another please realize that freedom does not give you freedom. What Gives freedom is liberty, Liberty is your ability to give up your freedom. When man or bullies try to control, fear and guilt are two of the greatest warrior of Control. So to shut me up talk to the people that has that power and bullies don’t have that power. So watch for future points or thought.
15 Is it not lawful (permissible) for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? 16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
Like volunteer army.. all are called but ones that raise hand are chosen
One of the meanings of the of this verse might be; God invites "many" (perhaps "all" in view of the Semitic usage of "many") to be part of his kingdom, but only a "few" are chosen by him. This does not mean that God chooses arbitrarily. The invitation must be accepted. When this happens your way of life changes and it can be slow, but change it will.
Look up Preach and you will find it means Proclaim, that means anyone in Christ Can preach. What your talking about is sermonizing and that is done by sermonners and sermonnetts, this is done in church buildings. Maybe if you was not so bitter or angry at life and play the hand you was dealt, you would see life is more then blood and breath.
