County Employee Raises -

In the August 26, 2010 Travler, it was reported that "as it stands, the proposed budget contains no provision for employee salary increases."  Mr. Leroy Alsup said, "All wages will remain the same as (last) year."  And that's across the board."  Does that inlcude Mr. Alsup as well?  Looks to me like if there isn't money in the budget for county raises, then Mr. Alsup shouldn't be getting one either!  Shame on Alsup if he "takes" a raise after Vice Chair Gary Wilson was quoted as saying "We don't pay the best wages in the world."  That would be a slap in the face for ALL COUNTY EMPLOYEES!

And what a sweet deal for him too. He gets to take his retirement, then come back to work with a raise and no KPERS coming out of his new payroll check. Thats like getting 2 raise's. And now they hire an assistant for him. Just think not to many years ago the county opperated just fine without an administrator at all. I'm not sure but i believe almost all county employee's make less then half of what Alsip makes in a year. WOW
