It's also one the many many many reasons Scientology is harming it's followers

Jake, you are confusing Scientology with Christian Science. Christian Science does not forbid the use of medicine, however a majority of followers and believers prefer to leave healing up to God and prayer, rather than modern medicine.

Hey Jake:

Ever check out the Chilocco (5 miles south of town) Narconon Scientology connection?

"VERY" interesting stuff.

Good place for your newfound attention to minute details. Want a good grade on a term paper? Dig that one up, write it up well and you will get it.

YMMV

You're right, the Church of Scientology forbids the use of psychoactive drugs...so for the 1~2% of the population that is mentally ill, that's a real bummer. Vastly different from denying medical treatment like penicillin though, which is what Lagonda was referencing. Lagonda was talking about parents who follow Christian Science and therefore do not allow their children to receive any form of medical treatment which has led to many deaths and other harms to come to their kids (if I'm reading this right). So although you may have been correct about Scientology denying access to some forms of medication, the point was still off the mark.

Guess who just threw of your numbers! haha

although maybe i should have said brilliant choice, seeing as it helped lead to McCains loss...

All I know is that these Repbulicans thinking that Palin in 2012 is a good idea are the biggest bunch of hypocrites I have ever seen (although should I expect more, I mean they are Republicans, i joke, i joke)

I was reading an article in the NY Times after the elections, and there was a Democratic couple that voted McCain-Palin because they were disappointed in the way the Dems 'handled Hillary', which I thought was absolutely pathetic. The candidate you want doesn't win, so you vote for someone with completely different values and ideals than the person you were hoping would win?? Sorry, needed to get that off my chest.

The only way she has a snowball's chance in hell for 2012 is if the Republicans stay as disarrayed as they are today. If it is based on the "we need a woman for president" card, there are about 100 more strongly qualified and knowledgeable women in the republican party who would be a better choice.

The far right wing republicans look at Palin like the a doberman looks at a cat with a broken leg. I think the only reason she was there was to be easily manipulated. A few days after the election, she is calling McCain advisers names. She wouldn't have lasted 6 months in the Beltway without a meltdown.

I never voted in the (Arkcity.net) poll, but count me in for "the stupidest decision that McCain could have while smoking crank". It cost him an election that he could have won.

Now she gets to have a new granddaughter and an idiot son-in-law. Wonder when the wedding will be?

Ahhh...I still think she was a good choice. Seems she's well loved in Alaska with about a 65% approval rating. I stand by my original post, except it looks like I was wrong 'bout the Hillary comment. Oh well.
The Press gave her a hatchet job. I could say many things here, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Lagonda, I have been hungry to get your thoughts on this video I got from one of the blogs. It's only about 20 seconds long.

SG, if you're out there, I'd appreciate your thoughts also.

Thanks.

Well, I'm going to get something off of my chest. I am sick tired of the Democrats AND Republicans who think their party is the only one who know anything. I am tired of hearing people degrading and demeaning the other party and it's followers. All I see is a country which is divided even more today than it was on Monday. Insults and name calling (even in jest) only throws fuel on the fire. I honestly believe this country is beyond repair and the arrogant attitudes of us all will lead us straight to hell.

Oh, and to answer Lagonda's question... I think McCain was the weak link of the Republican ticket. Obama out campaigned him hands down. Palin was used and abused by both sides of this political race and there is no Al Sharpton backing her up. It breaks my heart to see the way women are treated. Unfortunately, this will never change until women learn to support their own gender as the black people rose up and supported their man. I do not see that happening anytime soon. I guess women have no confidence or trust in themselves and it's a shame.

I'm definitely not against women for the vice president position or president for that matter. I am very cautious about using the political position as a beauty contest where the candidate has little or no knowledge about history or politics. Mandate for change or not, DC politics is a tough world and I don't think Sarah Palin would have lasted very long, even as vice president. Look at what happened to Dan Quayle. It would happen to her. For that matter, look what has happened under George Bush.

In all seriousness, Christie Todd Whitman could have brought it in for McCain, and there are at least 10 others I could name who could have done the job. Sarah Palin is a lightweight and a political pawn.

The video issue... I've got no clue what they (both sides) are talking about. All I know is that we have a well funded national domestic security force and instead of using them for the purpose intended, that idiot George Bush put them on the first line in 2 international wars. It is time to bring back the Kansas National Guard and fight our wars with the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines. It would be like sending the Coast Guard to patrol the Straits of Hormuz. When Greensburg was blown away where were they? People and equipment were in Iraq.
