"The issue is legality. I don't know you, but if I did, and you fell into the catagory of "illegal","
The immigration laws are about like the tax laws. There are lot of if and cans and won'ts and can'ts. If you can tell who is illegal and who is not by looking at them or by spending 15 minutes looking at their B1 or B2, then you are a genius and I can get you a $100,000.00 per year job working as a consultant for a law firm in LA. Many immigrants don't really know if they are "expired" or extended either.
Being a illegal is a breaking of the law. Nothing about skin color. My biggest problem is the outword demostration being seen all over US by illegals. carrying their flad, not the USA, demanding the right to stay here, when they came here breaking the law of our country, celebrating holidays of their native countries here in the US and ignoring Our holidays. Otherwise the illegals do not assimulate to the country they are demanding to live in. My relatives too came over legally and they worked hard to assumilate to their new country.
I have seen one woman babysit 12 (under two years old )children in a two bedroom apartment and receive cash, so no taxes were taken out. and no license to do this as required by our laws.
I have also seen hairdressing done for money in a kitchen and no license to operate and only cash paid, so still no taxes paid.
I have also witness a church that was forced to change to spanish because of the demands of the hispanics attending, it was bilingual until then. There were people there to translate.
So as you can see, some people do not assimulate to the new country but try to change the new country to fit their needs. Now to me thats scary.
Given that the fastest growing minority is hispanic.
Please excuse all my spelling mistakes for those who seem to notice all the imperfection.
I think that if all the illegals were trying to assimilate, TRYING TO GET LEGAL, paying taxes, paying for medical care, and learning English, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Instead they come here and expect us to learn Spanish, provide translators in schools, educate their children (anchor babies, as the press likes to call them), and prety much pay their way.
If I did that in Mexico, I'd be ran out. Have you seen what Mexico does to it's illegal aliens from other countries? Yet, they expect us to take theirs. They even print up pamphlets on how to get across the US border.
But whatever... I'm done with this topic. I've said all I can say, been called a racist many times, and am tired of wasting my breath on people who have there heads so far up their butts they can see out their nostrils.
"If I did that in Mexico, I'd be ran out. Have you seen what Mexico does to it's illegal aliens from other countries? Yet, they expect us to take theirs."
It is very simple for a U.S. citizen to relocate and work or retire in Mexico. After a short while you're into their social security system for health care and you don't even have to change citizenship.
Please don't say we are being hardnosed because they are too. It's just not true.
It is very simple for a Ugandan citizen, Biafran, British, Pakistani, Chinese, Canadian, etc to relocate and work in the U.S. There are special INS rules for Mexico that are way more restrictive than almost all other countries.
One thing we have all learned from this discussion is that James Jordan will leave things out of the Traveler if it doesn't jive with his political or social views. For example, the fact that the two Guatemalans who kidnapped the people at knife point were in this country illegally. We would never have known that if it weren't for Motherof2's digging. It's sad, in a way, that so many people rely on the Traveler for their local news, only to be kept in the dark if something doesn't fit their views. I thought journalism was supposed to be unbiased?! I guess not here in good ol' Ark City, America (Or the New York Times, evidently)
"The laws should be rigidly enforced which prohibit the immigration of a servile class to compete with American labor, with no intention of acquiring citizenship, and bringing with them and retaining habits and customs repugnant to our civilization."
-Grover Cleveland - First Inaugural Address - Wednesday, March 4, 1885
Lagonda Again you spout what you know nothing about. Work visa's have an expiration date, as do student visa's. Student visa's become invalid when the student quits, graduates, or is expelled from the institution for what ever reason.
Plus anyone who came into this country without benefit of paperwork, or on the back of a coyote, know damn well they are illegal.
SG, funny you should mention this. Just about 2 weeks ago, I noticed a van full who refused to pull over when fire trucks were coming through an intersection with their lights on. They just floored it and took off. Either they are not aware of the laws regarding such things, or they paniced and were running from the sirens. Whatever the case, they nearly caused an accident. I tried to get their tag #, but they took off too fast (way above the speed limit). Now, to be fair... I do not know whether they were US citizens or not.
By the way, why do we keep coming back to this website?
motherof2 is that a law or a courtesy? You know I have heard of some people from small towns doing things like that in big city and causing more accidents from pulling over. If someone is used to big city driving then they probably would have speed up rather than pull over. Could they are US citizens with big town driving habits. A relative of mine told me about an accident involving serveral cars (7 to 15 or more) in a big town when people from a small town where trying to pull to the side for something like what you are talking about happened. Just saying sometimes people who are just driving thru are that just driving thru and will not know how you would like them to drive, just like when you go to the bigger towns people are cursing you for your small town way of driving
SEEN IT BOTH WAYS
Of Course it's the law to move out of the way of an emergency vehicle! Where did YOU learn to drive?
Since you know so much about the law, find it and print it
Do you really think we'd be having this conversation if there were no illegals here? I believe that the legal immigrants do get a bad wrap because of them. It is a shame that their presence is bringing down our city and tearing us apart.
Is this racism? No, I think it's more like "paranoid behavior". ******************************************************************* Here are some definitions for you in Wikipedia:
Racism has many definitions, the most common and widely accepted being that members of one race are intrinsically superior or inferior to members of other races.
Paranoia is a disturbed thought process characterized by excessive anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory beliefs concerning a perceived threat. ******************************************************************* No one is saying that they are superior or that Hispanic people are inferior. However, many are fearful of illegal immigrants coming into our town. So much so, that they sometimes have irrational thoughts and jump to conclusions. I wonder if JJ would say that paranoid people are "evil". My conclusion, perhaps JJ is so "paranoid" of racism that he irrationally accuses people.

Yes you would the illegal imagration issue just took the place of conversation away from what people like SG would be saying about Blacks, Native Americans, or Asians legal or not, if they where legal it would be about a black or a brown person. YOU GOT AN ARMPIT SMELL IT !!!!!!
How DARE you Sir... How DARE you say that I am racist against African Americans, Asians, and Native Americans (or hispanics for that matter). On what would you base a claim like that? I have said over and over that it is not the people themselves that I am against, but the fact that they are here illegally. Do not make slanderous statements about someone who you know nothing about.
You know, I usually just skip over your posts because trying to translate them into something I can read or make sense of is time consuming, but this time you have gone too far.
Did not say you were, but if ? I am simply saying that you would be talking about the others. Just because you talk about it does not mean you are btu it does show that you are not willing to stop the talk that fuels the fire
I just had to show lagonda that she was blowing smoke... This article addresses what I said earlier about the way Mexico treats IT's illegal aliens.
HYPOCRICY - 1: a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; especially: the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion.
Mexicos Harsh Treatment of Illegals By Dale Hurd
MEXICO CITY, Mexico - For the past month, America's attention has been focused on the Middle East war. During that time, another 300,000 illegal aliens have crossed America's border with Mexico. But you won't believe how Mexico treats its illegal aliens.
Illegal aliens from Mexico were allowed to march through America's cities, demanding citizenship some even waved the Mexican flag. But illegal aliens inside Mexico, mostly from Guatemala and Honduras, are literally on the run.
Some travel by train and some hide, trying to stay one step ahead of the Mexican Federal Police.
The Mexican government was outraged by the movement to build a new wall on America's southern border. Mexico's Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez went before the cameras to protest.
Derbez said, "Mexican immigrants are not felons or terrorists. They are human beings who deserve respect and the opportunity to live with dignity."
But in Mexico, when it comes to the treatment of its illegal aliens it's, Do as I say, not as I do.
Mexico has called U.S. immigration policy "harsh," and has called the proposed wall on the U.S. Mexico border "shameful." But some have called the Mexican immigration policy "hypocritical."
Enter Mexico illegally and you're treated as a felon. If you're caught by the Federal Police, you'll be fortunate if you're only deported immediately. The unfortunate are robbed, abused, raped, or even murdered by corrupt police officers.
Fernando Aguilar Neri coordinates Red Cross efforts to help illegal aliens in Mexico.
When people approach us, they are usually fearful that we work with the government and are afraid of being reported, said Neri. One of the seven principles of the Red Cross is complete neutrality and independence, so we can't cooperate with the Mexican government on the illegal alien issue.
Neri says that most illegals moving through Mexico try to avoid the cities.
The Catholic Church also shields illegal aliens from the Mexican government. CBN found two shelters for illegals in Mexico City, but weren't allowed inside.
Most of the Central Americans inside are on their way to the United States. They'll be fortunate if they arrive unharmed.
One immigrant from El Salvador said, "If you are carrying any money, the police take the money and then say, get out of here."
"We still have 20 days of travel (to reach the United States)," another one said.
But if you're a Mexican wanting to enter the U.S. illegally, then you can count on the Mexican government's help and support. It even has a special department called Grupos Beta that helps Mexicans cross the U.S. border illegally.
But in an interview with CBN News, the head of Mexico's Immigration Service, Hipolito Treviño, denied it.
Grupos Beta is the Mexican government initiative which does not help people cross the border, but they do assist them when they have problems in the border area, Trevino said.
But Grupos Beta gives them a booklet, which includes tips on how to safely cross the U.S border. Trevino denied the allegation that immigrants are also given maps by the government.
No maps, he said. We give them recommendations about the dangerous animals they'll encounter, how much water they need every day, what to do in case they get lost, what to do in case they get detained by the border patrol, which paths are dangerous because of crime.
The reason for the government's help? The cash sent home by Mexicans in the U.S. constitutes the second biggest source of foreign currency in Mexico after the oil industry. Last year that was $20 billion, or 2 percent of Mexico's GDP.
About 10 percent of Mexico's population is now living in the United States, thats over 10 million people. And how many illegal aliens in its own country has Mexico legalized in the past five years? Just 15,000.
The Mexican government may think a new wall on the U.S. border is offensive, but critics are saying far worse things about Mexico's immigration policy.
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Mexican President Felipe Calderon Sunday demanded the United States surrender its sovereignty, abandon the rule of law and accede to Mexico's inherent supremacy.
Lou Dobbs says Mexican President Felipe Calderon is showing "blatant hypocrisy" on immigration.
In his state of the union address to the Mexican nation, Calderon established his imperialistic imperatives: "I have said that Mexico does not stop at its border, that wherever there is a Mexican, there is Mexico. And, for this reason, the government action on behalf of our countrymen is guided by principles, for the defense and protection of their rights."
Calderon protested the U.S. government's increased raids on illegal employers of illegal alien employees and work site enforcement. In what is little more than a faint nod to the Bush administration's responsibility to enforce U.S. immigration law, the Department of Homeland Security had planned to send out notices to employers from the Social Security Administration informing them of non-matching records between an employee's name and Social Security number. These employers would then be forced to resolve any discrepancy within 90 days or be required to dismiss the employee or face up to $10,000 in fines for knowingly hiring illegal immigrants.
But then, ethnocentric advocacy groups and some labor unions, trying to bolster their membership, sued to stop the crackdown on hiring illegal alien workers. A federal judge in California last week issued a temporary restraining order blocking the plan, giving a victory to the AFL-CIO, the American Civil Liberties Union and the National Immigration Law Center, all of which brought the suit alleging DHS exceeded its authority in making the rule.
That U.S. District Court judge ruled as if she were an employee of the Mexican government, rather than the U.S. government. Homeland Security was simply enforcing existing immigration laws. Are we not a nation that follows the rule of law? If not, we're no country at all.
Calderon must have been delighted by the judge's decision. Calderon, like his predecessors, Carlos Salinas and Vicente Fox, has failed miserably to establish policies that would create jobs for the Mexican people and to eliminate shameful, unchecked corruption and incompetence in the Mexican government.
Even by Mexico's standards, Calderon's blatant hypocrisy is breathtaking. Calderon told the Washington Post more than a year ago that he believes laws are not a relative concept, nor subject to a personal concept of justice. Calderon declared a big difference between himself and his rival for the Mexican presidency, Manuel Lopez Obrador, was this: "I believe in the rule of law." Obviously he does not believe in the rule of U.S. law on U.S. soil.
Calderon can't have it both ways. He cannot fail his citizens at home and then act as the Great Imperialist Protector of his citizens who are driven by poverty and corruption to enter the United States illegally. The United States provides Mexico with an annual surplus of $65 billion in trade, an estimated $25 billion in remittances from Mexican citizens living and working here illegally, and at least another $25 billion generated by the illegal drug trade across our southern border.
But it is President Bush and this Congress who should be most embarrassed, because they are failing to assert rights for Americans in their own country, rights far short of those demanded by Calderon for his citizens living illegally in our nation.
NEW YORK (CNN) -- There are times when reason carries the mind no further, when the mind is carried from the rational across the penumbra of the absurd. That is where the leadership of the U.S. Senate now resides.
What many once regarded as the world's great deliberative body looks more like a clamorous bazaar in which senators feverishly hawk duplicity and deceit as bright jewels of public policy. Comprehensive immigration reform is just such a bauble, and buyer beware.
Most beguiling among those merchants of mendacity is none other than Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, who has been peddling his wares at the Senate bazaar for more than four decades. Kennedy's counterfeit immigration views reach all the way back to his championship of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965.
In signing that legislation into law, President Lyndon Johnson promised it would not be revolutionary or affect the lives of millions, even as it overturned 60 years of U.S. immigration policy of national origin quotas and led to the creation of explosive chain migration.
Twenty-one years later, President Ronald Reagan signed into law amnesty for more than three million illegal aliens who had entered the country. President Reagan then promised the new employer sanctions would "remove the incentive for illegal immigration by eliminating the job opportunities," and that the law's amnesty provision would allow millions who were hiding in the shadows to "step into the sunlight."
And now, another 21 years later, we hear the same language as the pro-amnesty and open borders advocates demand that American citizens ignore history, reason and the national interest. They are again marketing the same false assurances about border enforcement and insist there will be no social or economic cost to the taxpayer or the nation. More than four decades of disruptive and destructive immigration policy initiatives should be a sufficient history lesson for all Americans.
The essential truth is clear: We cannot reform immigration law until we control immigration, and we cannot control immigration until we control our borders and our ports. This president and the congressional Democratic leadership refuse to recognize that reality and will not honor that truth.
President Bush and Sen. Kennedy pass for political stars in our tortured times, and that is sad enough. But if we follow the course they've set, true tragedy awaits us. And the fault will be ours.
dddfan, it must be so simple to live in your world. All immigrants either have a sticker or don't, and all the ones that do have stickers have expiration dates, and that's it: they're gone or illegal. (Sounds more like the movie Blade Runner than the INS.)
This is going to be a giant surprise to the army of immigration lawyers who do modifications, changes and extensions to immigration papers. I'll call some of them today and let them know. They are really going about this stuff very wrong, and they will want to know this information immediately. All of those extensions that are pending but not yet approved can now just be dismissed and not waste any more government time.
You're right. Boy, I sure didn't know anything about this at all. You must be very confident about how right you are.
What a breakthrough! All we have to do is ask for their stickers and the ones with no stickers or expired stickers go to jail.
This information will solve most of the immigration problems.
I think that if you read the statutes, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, displaying a steady or flashing light, and sounding a siren or simular device, will get you a ticket.
Need to read that there is a note that says as soon as it is safe to do so.
I know this is not California, but I can guarantee that failure to do so there will get you a ticket, if there is another unit around, I've done it more than once. Given tickets that is.
As for you response to motherof2, sounds like you are spouting your own "armpit".
What you and most of the other "liberals" around, mistake for racism is not even close. The issue is legality. I don't know you, but if I did, and you fell into the catagory of "illegal", as we have been using in these posts, I would ask you to leave, in the most direct terms. I don't care what color your skin is, as I have stated before.
Do so and come back legally, as per the constitution, and I will welcome you. Yes, the fact that you are legal does make you a diffrent person, it shows respect for me and my country, and traditions. It shows you are a law abiding citizen of a free nation who shares the same basic beliefs, and wants to belong to it based on those beliefs.
The rhetoric that it takes so long to do the process legally, doesn't make it either. I had to wait 16 years before I could drive car, 21 to vote, same 21 to get married, the list can go on and on. I didn't come from the womb speaking english, I had to learn it, I wasn't born with a college degree, or a diploma, I had to to earn them.
One of the problems with our society is give, give, give, well someone has to earn it before it can be given, and those things that are given are not respected nearly as much as something that you had to earn. Apply it where you will.
dddfan
So again I ask is it a lwa or what, in past threads people who have wanted to state a fact have done so by posting proof thru legal definitions so find the law and show it.
And I never refered to legal or ilegal I simply stated that if it was not this topic one of the other topics people in this country had been talking about for years would be on your lips and minds. Just think about this we could not even get through election 08 with out race or gender being brought up by the media and talked about at dinner tables, it just seems like some group is always getting talked about instead of helped or understood. I just wonder if you where in there shoes what would you do to better yourself and your family?

I guess it is easier just being a back seat driver (huh), or maybe to find fault in everyone else's work
But I don't agree that Bush has done anything about them- It's all talk... I know that it's actually gotten worse in our town about the time he got in office. But nobody has done a thing and I don't think anyone will. I wanted someone to stand up and say that they would do something about them, I have yet to be fulfilled or assured that it will happen. They want the votes and don't say that they illegals aren't voting- They are.. So they will say anything- It's the way it works, Right? But remember they are working for US.. Not them.
"The results indicated that President Bush's proposal had actually lured greater numbers of illegal immigrants to violate the law"
"Unfortunately, at a time when the United States faces an illegal immigration crisis and a war on terrorism, Bush administration officials directed Border Patrol agents to mislead the American people"
Headlines scream-
"Bush vows to push for work visas for some illegal immigrants-AP"
"Why not? For one thing, President Bush has done plenty of talking about illegal immigration before but is perceived to have done little by way of follow-through. For another, two of the major points in the plan outlined by Bush Monday night (enforcing existing laws and the deploying National Guard troops to assist border control efforts) don't require congressional action. Bush could have given orders to do either of these things at any point during the last few years, but didn't. "
Headlines scream.. " 6,000 National Guard troops deployed to border states"- How many troops are in Iraq? Shouldn't we be fighting the war at home first? How many of you voted for him.. What has he done? We we're fast to fight a war in Iraq.. Over WOMD, That weren't even there... And we have MORE troops THERE then what we have here protecting our borders!
Layla Gonzalez at The Hill Chronicle has written a post in which she claims that illegal aliens kill more Americans on average every day than are killed in action in Iraq:
Twelve Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens, according to statistics released by Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y. If those numbers are correct, it equates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens. That is 21,900 since Sept. 11, 2001.
If you have ever spent more than two weeks watching the local evening news in Houston (where I grew up), this would come as no surprise to you (except the pro-open borders local MSM in Houston would never use the denigrating term illegal; they prefer undocumented or Mexican national).
And its not just murder being pepetrated by our unwanted and univited intruders:
Based on a one-year in-depth study, Deborah Schurman-Kauflin of the Violent Crimes Institute of Atlanta estimates there are about 240,000 illegal immigrant sex offenders in the United States who have had an average of four victims each. She analyzed 1,500 cases from January 1999 through April 2006 that included serial rapes, serial murders, sexual homicides and child molestation committed by illegal immigrants.
You want to bring all of our men and women home from Iraq?
OK, Ill compromise with you: bring them all home tomorrow, and immediately redeploy all of them with their M1A1 Abrahams tanks, their Apache helicopters, their full arsenal to our borders (with the heaviest concentration on our Southern border).
As Layla concludes yes, our President and our Congress does have blood on their hands. But its not the Soldiers in Iraq; its the blood of civilian US citizens being slaughtered in our own country by our illegal neighbors.
This next video is sad, At the end it states that 48,000 people have been murdered by illegal immigrants SINCE 9/11.. The above says 21,000- Either way it's not good numbers..But yet we're NOT fighting this war at home... Meanwhile- 500,000 per year cross our borders!
"The unfortunate are robbed, abused, raped, or even murdered by corrupt police officers."
Some cops in Mexico are corrupt. period. Everybody gets robbed, abused, raped, murdered, etc by corrupt police officers in Mexico. (even the Mexicans) Most of the police there are honest.
I was offered a joint on the open streets of Acapulco by a uniformed police officer. So what.
They DO have a problem on their southern border with Guatamalans and Salvadorans coming across. They also have a small problem with a thing called a revolution in the state of Chiapas, next to the border. They kind of take names and kick butt there to try to maintain order, but it has nothing to do with norteamericano gringos.
As far as the report, yeah, I get all my hard news from the reactionary "700 Club" too. On a good day they are doubtful, on a bad day they are melodramatic hogwash.
There aren't illegal immigrant U.S. citizens in hiding and on the run in Mexico, other than escaped criminals. All one needs to do to be "legal" is fill out a form, which most people do at the border. To get it extended is a walk in the park.
I'm surprised you haven't posted Rush Limbaugh golden nuggets on this post. He also has the same kind of stuff. Kind of far right-wing hate the foreigners angle. You know, like the Nazis did.
How do YOU feel about France? :) That's what I thought.
Did not say you were, but if ? I am simply saying that you would be talking about the others. Just because you talk about it does not mean you are btu it does show that you are not willing to stop the talk that fuels the fire
You insinuated that if we were not talking about illegal aliens, that I would be talking about blacks, asians, or American Indians, because I am racist. Dress it up however you like now, but the posts are still up so anyone who wants can view them and decide for themselves. I have never said anything remotely racist about any race. You have no idea who I am, or what my background or family makeup is past what I've told inthese forums. You simply like to call names when the argument isn't going your way, and the flaws in your logic are exposed.
As you can tell by how people usually respond to you, your opinion doesn't carry a lot of weight on here simply because you can't put a sentence together very well. Maybe you should spend less time on here arguing, and more time learning to write. Do you type these posts with a pencil in your mouth or something?
"I have said that Mexico does not stop at its border, that wherever there is a Mexican, there is Mexico. And, for this reason, the government action on behalf of our countrymen is guided by principles, for the defense and protection of their rights."
I find this quote to be particularly interesting. It is presented to show that Mexico is demanding the surrender of the U.S. sovereignty (although I don't read that anywhere).
But what if the U.S. State Department (You know, the guys who could get you out of an Indonesian jail?) were to say:
"The United States does not stop at its border, that wherever there is a U.S. citizen, there is the United States. And, for this reason, the government action on behalf of our countrymen is guided by principles, for the defense and protection of the rights of U.S. citizens."
They sort of DO say that to other governments.
You would kind of think that was a good thing, wouldn't you?
The Hill Chronicles is an amazing blog. It has interesting articles that don't make it into the newspapers. It must be a big conspiracy. That must be why we haven't heard about the facts quoted.
I looked at the "news" today in the Hill Chronicles and found a lot of very interesting "facts":
Barak Obama worked with terrorists and funded a group opposed to the racist Israel state.
"liberalism being displayed by the two major candidates for the Democratic Party presidential nomination can only be understood as a psychological disorder."
and:
"The hypocrite Former President Jimmy Carter is anti-Semitic and the worse sort of Jew hater. "
Oh by the way, Houston, Chicago, or anywhere, MSN doesn't have any "local" news. It is a national feed. What you see in Kansas is what you see anywhere.
Look guys:
I now understand the whole thread of this blog. It is now clear about the hundreds of stolen babies, the huge numbers of illegal aliens in Ark City, the murders and sex perverts, racism (and not "understanding" it) and the ranting and emoting against hispanic illegals. You all are mainlining this right-wing rabble rousing just like it was black tar heroin and you are thinking it is correct news.
You GOTTA start reading or watching mainstream news. The world IS NOT out to get you, no matter what the hater blogs and magazines say.
When you are told something, pause a minute and think, Is this possible? Is this probable? Could this really be true? Then, Is it true? Check it out before you just robotically repeating it.
The politicians of the 90's well understood some of the weaknesses of the public and played them like fiddles. Think for yourselves. Don't just blindly accept what these right wing blogs tell you to think.
Yeah, make sure to read all the liberal left wing nut job blog's instead!! What were we thinking? You should watch CNN, and MSNBC and all those "REAL" news shows to find out what is really going on in this world.
And I personally LOVE RUSH LIMBAUGH, SEAN HANNITY, RONALD REGAN & God Bless Fox News. Oops -- can I say God on here? Is that ok??? I would hate for someone to be mean to me in all their smart liberal blabber.
It's good idea to watch a little of everything to get some perspective. Plus it helps keep me grounded to see what the liberals are trying to push next or 'progressives' I forgot they liked to be called that!!
you still haven't produced any statistics or facts to support the things you believe, such as their being no illegals in Ark City, or how they are a great thing for this country. Why not? If you know so much about the mainstream (liberal) media, then why can't you find some FACTS to back up what you are saying? Every time we find facts to back our claims, you just ignore them, or put down the source. How about presenting some facts to show us how great this country will be once we are overrun with illegals?
Did not say you were, but if ? I am simply saying that you would be talking about the others. Just because you talk about it does not mean you are btu it does show that you are not willing to stop the talk that fuels the fire

Insinuation (huh) is that the way you do things just jump to an opinion with out completely trying to understand first. yes I do not know that much about you and I really do not want to, but like someone else said you stirred up the nest with this thread and now you can not take what comes with it like anyone opinion about what you say. I mean if you do not want people to think this way about you and your subjects you chose to put your words and thoughts out to the participaters of this forum then think and rethink about what you put out there or keep it to yourself. I myself can respect your thoughts but can you do the same for anyone else without getting yourself into a funk. Oh yea you did say you were in law enforcement before so I should rally give in to your thoughts because from what I here around here you can not tell a lawman he might just be wrong about anything . Besides I thought you said you were done with this thread?
I don't know if this helps, but I've found a document that pretty much summarizes all of the objections to hispanic immigration and illegals in Ark City. I have found some language lifted from this document. I wonder if some aren't using it as a reference.
Does anyone listen to Glen Beck? I like him, too. I've caught glimpses of him this week interviewing the author of "Liberal Fascism". Looks like a good read. Perhaps those who support the far left should take a second glance.
Do you even know what it means to insinuate something. I think you misunderstand. Look it up and then reread my post. It's okay... I'll wait...
Here, I'll even help:
Insinuate1.to suggest or hint slyly: He insinuated that they were lying. Now then... What angered me (and continues to anger me) is that you are putting words in my mouth. NOWHERE have I said anything racist about any race of people. You have said it over and over, and I would like to know where you get off attributing things to me that I never said. I am here to listen to everyone, and to debate my point of view. You have gone beyond debate to personal attacks on me by calling me racist, and saying that I have racist feelings against many races. I demand that you show proof of where I said anything of the sort, or apologize. Put up or shut up.

Well, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Just because I abhore the KKK, and all that they stand for, there are some interesting points in the article, especially since they lift direct quotes from Mexican journalists. And just to be fair, I abhore the 700 club (and whatever organization oversees it) too, but it was the first article I found when I typed the phrase "How Mexico treats it's illegal immigrants" into a search engine. I do love me some Lou Dobbs though. GO LOU, GO!!!
Here is a little snippet from the article that lagonda linked to:
A Mexican immigrant leader in the U.S. says on deporttheborderpatrol.com,"There is no need for the Border Patrol. If people from the south side of the river decide they want to take up residence on the north side, who you gonna call? Call your new neighbors and say, bienvenidos! The United States has been described as a nation of immigrants. So, in all fairness to the police officers, average police don't deserve to get killed nearly as much as Border Patrol goons do. Some police officers sign up so they can serve the people, accepting the job of enforcing the many unjust laws as a required trade-off. That is a decision they have made and, while it is the wrong decision, at least they aren't as bad as Border Patrol goons, which sign up only out of greed and malice. Border Patrol goons only serve the wants of bigots. Border Patrol goons are the scum of the Earth."
Thanks for the ammo lagonda. Looks like the nice innocent illegals want nothing but to come here and make a better life... oh, and a few of them maybe want to KILL THE BORDER PATROL! Nice! Keep making those great arguments. You're really bringing me around to your side.
A few more points from the article lagonda linked to: (Bear in mind that none are opinions of the writer, but quotes taken from other sources)
Kerri Pepoy, an intelligence analyst for the national Drug Intelligence Center speaking about North Carolina said, Mexican drug trade organizations have essentially taken over the drug trafficking business from other groups. Nationwide, almost half of all people charged with federal drug offenses between 1984 and 1999 were Hispanic, according to a 1999 U.S. Department of Justice report. The DEA reports that 65 % of all the cocaine that enters this country comes in from Mexico.
Mexican columnist Carlos Loret de Mola told the Mexican newspaper, the Excelsior, over 20 years ago how this would play out."A peaceful mass of peoplecarries out slowly and patiently an unstoppable invasion, the most important in human history. You cannot give me a similar example of such a large migration wave by an ant-like multitude, stubborn, unarmed, and carried on in the face of the most powerful and best-armed nation on earth{Neither} barbed-wire fences, nor aggressive border guards, nor campaigns, nor laws, nor police raids against the undocumented, have stopped this movement of the masses that is unprecedented in any part of the world.
MALDEFs (the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund) President Mario Obledo stated,"California is going to be a Hispanic state. Anyone who doesnt like it should leave. Former President Clinton awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1998.
In a Hispanic Studies textbook,"The Mexican American Heritage by East Los Angeles high school teacher Carlos Jimenez, Aztlan is depicted in a redrawn map of Mexico and the United States; with Mexico of course having one third more territory. In the book Jimenez states,"Latinos are now realizing that the powers to control Aztlan may once again be in their hands. The textbook teaches high school students that Mexico is going to regain the states of Colorado, California, Arizona, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon and parts of Washington - all formerly part of Aztlan. The idea of Aztlan is gaining swift momentum through the push of organizations such as MEChA. The logo of the MEChA also known as the Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan is an eagle holding a stick of dynamite. The preamble to their National Constitution states:
Chicana students of Aztlan must take upon themselves the responsibilities to promote Chicansmo within the community, politicizing our Raza with an emphasis on indigenous consciousness to the struggle for self-determination of the Chicano people for the purpose of liberating Aztlan.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INVASION USA Lone Protester acquitted, takes campaign nationwide 'There's one heckuva lot of people who think like I do'
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: February 26, 2008 9:52 pm Eastern
A South Carolina contractor who was brought to court on a charge of disorderly conduct for allegedly calling a homeowner who hired a competing roofing company a "cheap b------" has been acquitted, but Terry Funderburk, 52, says his fight now is just beginning.
Funderburk calls himself The Lone Protester, and recently faced a trial after using those words to describe a homeowner who was having a roof installed by another company.
With his contracting business facing a downturn of gargantuan proportions in 2007, Funderburk was driving around looking for work when he ran across the house in question, where he'd done earlier work.
He admits he was upset to find another company now working there, and his evidence the workers were illegal aliens was no more than circumstantial. But he decided to protest anyway, and he was carrying protest signs and marching up and down in front of the house on July 16, 2007, when he was arrested.
His signs said, "Illegals Quit Stealing Our Jobs!!!"
"My local newspaper has an article about [the case]," he wrote in an e-mail after his acquittal. "In it I am quoted as saying that I protested because I saw Hispanics on that job and that is not right. I want to set the record straight. One month before I was arrested I bid on that job and the homeowner himself told me that international roofers installed the shingles on that roof for 4 to 5 dollars an hour. That is what top, American roofers got paid in the 1960s and 70s. I told the jury the same thing. And they believed me," he wrote.
His suspicion that the workers were illegal stemmed from the reference to their extremely low wages, he said.
The homeowner had testified during the trial Funderburk was loud, impeding traffic and cursing, so he called Columbia police. He said he was disappointed in the verdict.
But Funderburk said besides the single curse word, he mostly waved at passing motorists.
Now that he's been acquitted, Funderburk told WND, his work is just beginning.
"There is no way in the world I'm going to let it drop," he said. "I'm trying to get as many people to do what I went through."
He said that may not include arrest for all, but he said people have to challenge the current system of politics and law enforcement that allows illegal aliens to take jobs he and others want.
"I'm taking my fight into South Carolina, where I live, because legislators are having an illegal immigration discussion in the statehouse in Columbia right now," Funderburk said.
He said he's been blacklisted by a lot of politicians and organizations for his challenge to the "system," but he said he also has a lot of backing.
"From Wednesday evening when I got out of court, over 24 hours, I got 3,200 letters from people in my e-mail," he said. "It's so many it's impossible for me to answer them."
He also has support from border security organizations such as Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, and various Minuteman groups.
"There's one heckuva lot of people who think like I do," he said. He cited the need for a revolution. "I'm trying to do everything I can to get one started."
In an e-mail to supporters, he talked about the need for an overhaul of the system.
"It is time to tell them that we want our laws enforced and that we will not accept any excuses for their non-compliance. It is time to take this state back!" he said. "In violation of all the laws of this state and country, our native born South Carolinians are being replaced in large numbers in the work force by industries and other businesses that employ illegal aliens. In the last three years my industry, construction, has literally been invaded by an entire army of replacement workers in direct contravention of our laws. The changes that I have seen are simply unbelievable. In my line of work, roofing, 75 percent of the employees are illegal aliens, 75 percent of the brick masons are illegals, and the same applies to the carpenters, siding crews, insulation crews and every other business in the construction industry."
He said he and other business owners are being forced out of business and bankrupted "by criminal competition."
He told supporters his small business usually had 20-30 jobs lined up at any point. During 2006 he grossed $176,000. But in 2007, he grossed $18,000 through August.
"The day I was arrested, sitting on that hot road being watched over by two police officers, I saw five illegal aliens hard at work, knowing for a fact that they would not be arrested by those two cops. None of them had any worry in the world about being arrested because in those two cops' eyes these criminals got a free pass. But the thing is, every last one of them was breaking the law, right in front of those two cops. And the cops did nothing," he said.
"We are not supposed to say anything as we are ran (sic) out of business," he said. "But I refuse to shut up about it. I am an American citizen, guaranteed rights under our system of laws, just like my fellow workers in this state are supposed to have."
"I will tell you why you must fight. It is because our Constitution starts out with, 'We The People.' It does not say, 'we the politicians' or 'we the special interests' or 'we the illegal aliens.' That means that this country and state belongs to us and nobody else," he continued.
"Please listen to me, please stay on our politicians call them, e-mail them, fax them, do whatever you have to do, just make your voice heard to them in some way, somehow," he said. "
He recalled one time during his trial when the lawyers were arguing over procedure. He said he tried to ask a question, but wasn't allowed to.
"My question [would have been about May 1, 2006, when] I remember watching 5,000 illegal aliens gathering in Finlay Park in Columbia to march in our streets and protest for things that were not due them because they were not American citizens. And I also remember them yelling at the top of their lungs, but strangely enough, none of them were arrested like I was," he said.
"So anybody out there, in a position similar to mine, do not back up, do not be scared, if your business is going to hell, or your job, fight back, force the issue, bring it to the courts, request a trial by jury, exactly like I did. Do not be scared if they call you a racist like they did with me. Do not be scared if they try to force you into pleading guilty. Because, if you request a trial by jury, composed of American citizens, then you will be judged fairly, just like I was. Do not give up," he said.
