Downtown Shopping

I agree with most people that the streetscape thing isnt going to bring people into Ark City.  It is up to local business owners to draw attention to our businesses!  As a new business in town we are attempting to get customers interested in our shop.  So we came up with the Roaming Gnome, Roman is a cute little guy that has been passed up the past few weeks.  He's left his mark @ O'Riellys and Bob Fosters.  Maybe this week someone will find him, that is if the Traveler ever gets the story printed!

We are also trying to get the community involed for Childhood Cancer Awareness!  I really hope that Ark City sees this as a way to open their hearts to something just as tragic as Jodi's death!  Ark City needs to step up to the plate and get involved in something other then themselves.

I agree that most of the downtown shops are overpriced and boring.  Have you thought of checking out some of the other shops like the Used book store, Scrapbooking place, or Barely Worn?  Yes most of these shops offer "used" stuff but sometimes you might find something you might not find @ places like Wal-Mart or in Wichita!  I know that most people think of Ceramics as something that an "older" person is more inclined to do, but we've opened up a Children's Area and offer classes for more then just the ceramics!  We have diffrent crafts that we offer!  If anyone would stop and check stuff out then they might find that Ark City does have a few things to offer on a boring Saturday!

Take a challenge!  The next time you've got nothing to do: go into a shop that you've never been before and see what all they have to offer! You never know what you might find!
