RE: ark city PD

If your so worried about the drug problem, then why don't you report the names you have to the ACPD?

That is a good question, what are they doing about the drug problem. You very seldom see a drug arrest in the paper. Other papers in the area are constatntly reporting on drug arrests and court dates. Either the arrest are not happening or they are not getting reported. It is public info so if you want to know go to the courthouse and see how many arrests have been made.
I did see recently in another paper that a family with Ark City connections was busted for drugs.
Some of them have been sentenced already.

The Cowley County Drug Task Force is working on this type of thing every day. And some of these drug pushers are being caught and arrested. It does however matter what goes on after the arrest. If the county attorney's are not willing to take the extra steps they need to take to insure these people are prosecuted to the fullest extent the system doesn't work. If the pushers are allowed to plea bargin and get off on a lesser offense, they are back on the street and back in business in no time. It is a unending circle. The same goes with other crimes such as domestic violence, battery, assault ect.......I believe ACPD is doing what they can do to combat the problem along with adolesent drinking, and DUI's.

While persuing my hobby of checking the Police News to see what my former employees are up to, I often see drug arrests by ACPD. I suspect that if citizens finger the dealers in their neighborhood, the police will happily invite the doofuses to a spell in the slammer. The question is whether there are the will and the resources for prosecution.

Reporting drug dealers to the police or sherriff here is a waste of time.  Even in the unlikely event an arrest is made for dealing, they plea-bargain down to posession and walk.

Speaking of drug control, how many were arrested in that sting that they had this summer, if I was to guess it was something like 20 or more. I would rather them do something like that and I applaud the PD, than arrest one or two because some neighbor said so, instead of arresting them or searching them immediately, why not watch them for a while and then get several involved??

As an outsider looking in, drug cases requre real legal work, real judges, DA's, and civil rights are attended to by the courts. City courts are one sided and are money makers whatever so called "city Attys" say to the" city judge" the buddy system kicks in and fines are handed down for city profits.

When are we or will we ever hear anything about the big money or heavy drug dealers around here being busted, instead of only the small dealers. It seems to me it takes a lot of money to bring drugs into any size community but, the only ones we see being caught or brought before a judge is the ones who get a court apointed judge at the cost of the people. But you hardly ever see the big guysgo down or even pay anything to the courts or have anything taken away by the C.D.T.F. to be sold to help fund operations. Or is it they just have to many connections to keep their names out of the paper for us to now them. Or they just want us to contiue to shop their store!hmm After all they measure succes onthis nationally by dollars removedfrom the street.

Ark City Police Dept. Has always went after the small time Drug dealers. They use information
they receive from C. I.'s or Civliin Informantants. Or small time drug addicts who they have arrested. They make a deal not to prosecute them in exchange for the names of Drug Dealers
or even just people who use Illegal Drugs. So ultamatley its just a joke. The Police Arrest a
small time Drug Dealer and trump it up to the Media to make their self look good. Plus the more Drug Bust per year the more State and Federal Money they receive. Believe me the ACPD does not want to shut down the Big Drug Dealers. Long term it would cost them jobs and job security.
The ACPD still will allow Drug users like Crack heads to run the street for alittle information
most of the C. I. Information they get is not about trying to stop Drugs and Drug Dealers its a
numbers game to get Goverment Funding.
The ACPD will give drugs to thier so called Civillan Informants to keep the numbers of Drug Busts up. For more Gov. Aid or money and job security. When I was young the nick name of Ark City was little Chicago. Our town will never get any better as long as the good ol boy system is still being used. The ACpd is the most corrupt Police Force in Kansas. Ark City is a major Distrubution Town for large amounts of drugs to be sent all over the United States, it always has been.
We as law abiding citizenes need to hold the ACPD, Cowley Co. Drug Task more accountable for the time and money they waste every year, just to keep the number of Drug Related Crimes they waste our Tax Money on.
We need to Unite togather and fire the money mongers, who do nothing but suck our State and Local taxes up. By busting users and petty or small time Drug Dealers. And turn thier back on the real Drug Dealers that move 1000,s of lbs. Cocaine a month through here, or 2000 Kilos of Pot each and every month. Do,nt be fooled by what you read the Cowley Co. Law Enforcements leaders know who these Drug Dealers are they just turn therr heads.
Ark City Citezens are the only way we can stop the Money Train to the Law Enforcement in Cowley Co. by making all the Drug Task force ect. Be held accountable for the smoke Screen.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about, and your butchering of the English language is masterful.  C.I.s are CONFIDENTIAL informants, and the facts just get worse from there.  If you have any proof to back up these statements, then by all means, produce it... otherwise, it's just libel.

Let it be noted that I stood up for the ACPD.  Yay me!

What does every one think of the letter form the employ at Jump Start concerning the underage sale of beer? I think she has some strong points. I'm just a regular mother of three childern, one past their teens and one in their late teens, and I can name at least six drug dealers by just watching and listening what is going on around Ark City, I know other people can too. I don't agree with under age drinking at all but what are they doing about the drug dealers in town?

confused   I believe if the Citezens of Ark City knew the name or names of Drug Dealers
They would report them to the ACPD. even though just kwowing their names and reporting them is nothing more than hearsay. Its not evidence that can be used to arrest anyone or even get a search  warrant.
