Car Show & Concert

The Day At The Burford car show is coming up on May 8. There is a concert for the show participants that will be on E 5th Ave by the Home National Bank. The cost of attending the concert is part of the participant's registration fee. In an effort to allow any one who loves live music to enjoy the concert even without a car in the show, we decided to open the concert to everyone. We are asking that non car show participants make a $5 per person donation to the Burford in place of selling tickets to the concert. Simply stop by the car show registration table in front of the Burford and make your donation. This will be run on the honor system. There won't be formal tickets or arm bands. There won't be a hairy legged bouncer throw you out if you don't donate. Our hope is that everyone attending will have a good time and want to do it again next year so bring your lawn chairs, look at the beautiful cars and bikes on display and enjoy the great music. The ACHS Jazz Band will start the show at 11 AM with the main band Leadfoot will take the stage at 1PM. Both bands are working hard to provide us with a great show so lets all come out and enjoy the day.

It was quite successful. We had 83 entries which was excellent for the first year. The Arts Council has advised they want to do it again next year so we're off & running again. It'll be the second Saturday in May again so bring your friends and come on down.

The proceeds when to the restoration of the Burford. The traveler did a couple of stories but one would probably have to search the archive to find them.
