Orscheln's Clerk

She has more on the ball than a lot of the lame brains we have around town.  Gotta give her credit.  Maybe the ACPD or CLSO could use her skills.  Hope somebody does good for her.

Bummer.cry   Save the store $$, take criminals off the street and what do you get? A pink slip. Too bad we don't know the entire story here, but, my heart goes out to the young lady. She is working to support her young brood. Kudos.

I concur, maybe someone who can, will step up to help.

I understood the story was about a day care who was unwilling to take her child when sick.

Well, it makes sense, because it is preventing the spread of kidbugs across the town. But what is a single mother to do?

I was raised by a single mom and I can relate. If you have sick kids and stay home because day care is not an option, it is a pretty cold world where you are fired for it.

The thing about catching the bad guys? I'm not even looking at that.

With all of the brain-dead employees in Ark City, you find one who has the snap to be on her toes to catch someone who is stealing from your store and they have stolen from Orscheln's before?

She's fired?

I nominate the manager (who fired her) for the "Ark City Bonehead Award of the Year".

They fired the wrong guy.

Does the upper management at Orscheln's know about this?

I would think at least a managerial a$$chewing is in order, and an apology and reinstatement for the woman at what probably was a crappy wage anyway.

Someone should hire this woman. Kid issues and all.

We might not know the whole story, but in many places an employee that caught the Dalton Gang would get a raise and bonus. Maybe even some time off.

If she worked for me, I damned sure would show my appreciation.

Let me play the devil's advocate. We've read/heard one side of the story. We don't know what kind of an attendance problem the employee may have had. Before I retired I spent a lot of years as shop steward and as such had many occasions where I had to defend those with attendance issues. One overwhelmingly common pattern was a person not coming to work when there was no real excuse, putting the employee in a position where having to miss for a good excuse put them over the line & action was taken by management. Maybe she did indeed have a sick child on that occasion but how many times did she miss work prior to that, that put her at risk of losing her job? I don't know but I do know we need to know both sides of the story before throwing stones.
