Don't know why the original post was deleted

But I agree with the tagline "Ark City IS a good place to call home."

I've lived in HUGE metropolitan areas and I'm not afraid living here.  Not afraid to leave my car in my driveway at night, or run out around the block to the convenience store without locking my door.  I'm not afraid to walk by myself in the evening or at night.

My neighbors and I get together and pot flowers in the springtime, we check up on each other, if something suspicious happens, they let me know! They call the police if they need to!  They don't close their blinds and lock their doors.

I found a great church where they accept me if I'm in jeans and a t-shirt or my sunday best!  When I go in to get a cup of coffee, the counter help says "hey, how are ya?" instead of "IS THAT ALL?"

If I want to go get a cup of coffee, have a smoke, and read the paper in the MIDDLE of the night, I can go to the truck stop and get some grease and extra second hand smoke with my coffee! LOL  They're good ol' boys and gals down there, and welcome everyone in, they don't care what color you are there, they just care if you're GOOD. PEOPLE.

People wave, they talk, they help, they smile, they live here.  Two years ago I thought, "O god, I'm gonna hate this place."  There're a LOT of people here who change my mind every day.

Arkansas City is a pretty good place.  For all the things people can complain about here, I suggest try living in a city like L.A., NYC, Miami, Dallas, Minneapolis, Atlanta, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, and it becomes pretty clear... this place isn't so bad at all.
