Just wondering why Ark City didn't have the Christmas lights completed, or even turned on the ones that did get put up? Was there ever anything mentioned in the Traveler as why not? I would like to see some input about it. Thanks
The new poles hadn't been prepared for the Christmas decorations yet and by the time it was discovered the city crews had just enough time to create new attachments to make them fit. There wasn't enough time to finish the electrical.
As for why it wasn't mentioned in the Traveler, you will have to ask them.
Anytime we do something new there is always a wrinkle or two that you don't catch until later. I think that this was the last detail, but we have to go through a whole year to see what else we might have missed.
Even without the lit decorations, the new street lights made downtown look much different. I've heard a lot of compliments on how our downtown looks, especially at night.
