Flags in my Yard

Over a month ago just about the whole block was marked with little flags showing where the water, electric, cable, phone & gas lines run.
I carefully pulled mine, mowed and replaced the flags three times.  The fourth time I didn't bother replacing them.
Now this week I see that the utilities have been remarked and new flags planted.

Sure hope whoever has plans for a project here gets it done soon. I'm about ready to mow again and I'm in no mood to keep replanting those flags.

Has anyone contacted you about an upcoming project?

I'm happy to report that about five fellows with two pick up trucks and some equipment, showed up this week and pulled some cable under & through our yards.
It is my understanding (from talking with a neighbor) that we are getting fiber-optic so that we can also be sold Cox's phone service.

And NO, to your query Motherof2. I was never contacted by anyone about what was coming.
Guess when the utility companies have easement rights they don't need any further permission from the land owner.

That doesn't satisfy my curiosity though. I still spent over a month wondering what would be coming.

Are you sure about that? The cable company was working on my neighbors yard when a gas meter was ran over. When they were confronted, they told us they were not allowed to be in anyone's yard! Of course, they denied running over the meter for this reason.
Did you order Cox phone service? How much of your yard was ran over? If they came into my yard without permission or proper notice, they would have a fight on their hands! You are being awfully calm about this.
