Mowings and tree cleanup

I notice that at the bottom of your post it says "Edited by Webmaster". Is there something you wrote that they felt we were too innocent or delicate to see? Are the mods finally going to take part in these discussions, or just quietly edit our opinions from obscurity? It just makes me wonder what it was they felt needed editing.

I too have wondered about the high grass in the canal. Seems like a nice home for snakes.

are you going to complain if we participate and if we dont ::)
the poster asked that a minor error be changed, so we did it for him.

SG,
No, the webmaster edited it to my specs. I put the wrong street on the original post and thought about it later...He just put the right street in for me per my request. Although there have been times in the early stages of this forum I was squelched, it isn't the case this time. Thanks for inquiring about this.

The tree limb problem has been elimnated. Someone came out and picked them up. I am greatful for that. However, the canal is still in need of mowing. It seems the critters are traveling up and down the canal and using the tall grass for cover. Which makes the dogs bark and causes noise in the neighbor hood. The land owner may have taken up his responsiblity and cleaned up his trees, now let see if the city can get thier part done. How many days does the regular citizen get after notice?....10 days? or is it 7? Fire up those mowers boys!

Well, Bobdylan is a mod huh?  Welcome.  Pull up a chair.  My "complaint" as you put it, was that there was no way of knowing WHAT it was you edited.  You answered that (rather rudely), but you did answer that. Thank you.

I would not have assumed that you edited it for the poster, since we are able to edit the posts ourselves.  I have noticed that some posts may be edited by us, and others not, and I haven't quite figured out why.   The only logical conclusion to draw was that it contained something you didn't want to appear on the board.  Was it so wrong to wonder what that was?  Enquiring minds want to know.

And to make it clear, I would be glad to have some feedback in these forums.  I posted in another topic about that.  Just don't use your veto power to quash a quality discussion.

Im sorry i was rude. You are right, i was a bit sarcastic there.

too much coffee maybe ... or not enough ?

It would be good to have conversations with mods and posters and so forth.
There are also the blogs, where we can all talk.

:)
peace

With all the rain we have had lately it has been hard to keep up with our lawns, mine included. But we all have to abide by the rules. While at on the 1200 block of N A today I noticed it is time to mow the canal again. It is very weedy and high. Is Johnson grass a noxious weed? Probably wouldn't hurt to be sprayed as well.
Also in that area, I have noticed that the property behind the Baptist church has been mowed but when they cleaned up that property someone trimmed the trees. The trees look great, but the folks that trimmed the trees placed the dead limbs out on the street for someone else to haul off. There are at least two large piles of tree limbs on the street there taking up parking area in a residential area. I am not sure who owns that property but they, as any other should abide by the laws of the land. The city has free dumping of those trees right? The limbs placed there were not storm damage trees, as those were already cleaned up and hauled off. These were placed there after the last storm. Who is supposed to be responsible for this cleanup? Just wanted to remind whoever that it is time to mow the canal gain! biggrin.gif

I accept your apology. I know that for me it is easy to get a little too sarcastic and mean on here. I have felt guilty for being a little too crass on occassion. I think it's the nature of the beast when you are not speaking face to face with someone. A little bit of our id shines through me thinks.

I hope to have many discussions in the future.
