I received one of those surveys and I doubt that the city will really take to heart what I put down. This town is going bad fast! How is anyone going to want to move here if they cant own animals of their choice and cant park where they choose? The commissioners really need to choose their battles wisely!! Because just maybe the citizens might oust all of them and some real people get elected....ok maybe thats a dream but I think there time and energy should be spent listening to real people not the high society.
Maybe if enough people actully went to the meetings and started becoming more involved then it could make a diffrence.
I just moved here in July thinking it would be good for my kids and cheaper to live beens its a small poedunk town. On the other hand its been quite the opposite. Ark City has become hell on earth! If you werent born here or live here almost all your life then your an outcast.
I have recieved 3 of those stupid surveys. If i answered the 1st one why am I getting them every week? Wasnt my answers good enough the first time? Its not like the comissioners and whom ever else reads them is gonna care anyway what I answered.
$8,400 for a city survey. For that much money you could have put suggestion boxes in many places around town. We would let you know what we think... IF you truly want to know.
YOU ARE RIGHT....who wants to live in a town that is so strict and dictates your life to the point you cant tie your dog out a certain way or park you car in your OWN yard. I do not live in the city limits THANK GOD...and would NOT do so. I have heard how the ridiculous charges of water and sewer costs are. How the vandalism goes on and NOONE seems to ever see anything until it is done. WHERE are the patrolmen while cars are driving around at the wee hours shooting things? What good is it to fix up a city to make it "pretty" when noone is going to drive thru it? Coming in south end of town before you get to the bypass it is horrid. Run down houses and old buildings. If I was just coming here first time and saw that I would think it was just another little bump in the road..and old town and hit bypass and go on. Coming from West...same thing. and IF you are driving thru town all those expensive bricks put down in the sidewalk?????WHO can see them with the cars parked in front of it? SO many of the buildings need work and new awnings. Seems like so much was spent on stuff that was not necessary. I DO think the lights look awesome though. My kids love them as well. Will give credit where its due on that.
