We always have high expectations with the Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team. After seeing KU exit in the first round the past two years, many have told me they want Bill Self fired. With his team reaching the Sweet 16 this year, how do you feel about his job security? Does he still have that monkey on his back?
Self, or any other KU coach will have a monkey on his back until they win the championship. Expectations are always at the highest level at KU and rightly so since they are one of the storied and elite programs in the country.
This team has all the ingredients to win it all because of it's balance and the fact that no team can shut down one player and keep KU from scoring.
The longer Self keeps the program winning, whether it's BigXII or going deep in the NCAA's, his job is safe. He has already exhibited a knack for recruiting blue chip players and can motivate his players to play his style of hard-nose tough defense.
